The Principal’s Perspective...
From the desk of Mr. Ridvan
Happy summer to Paragon Science Academy families! I would like to say hello to all and extend a warm welcome to our new families.
We have been working very hard this summer and you will see some changes in our school. We have now a new library. I suggest you to take a look at the library when you visit the school anytime. I would like to thank the Landis, Schodt, and Gerdes families for the tremendous effort they have made. After adding six more classes to the elementary school, we now have 14 elementary classes, and 5 middle school classes. We have filled all the teaching positions and the teachers are so eager to meet their students. They are working hard on preparing their classrooms for the new school year.
This upcoming school year is a new beginning for Paragon Science Academy. Each student will have a new look in the uniforms. Thank you to the parents who took the time to submit their school uniform orders during the pre-order period. If your family was unable to participate in the pre-order, it is not a problem. We will have uniforms available for purchase during Orientation (August 6th and 7th) as well as the first week of school. Please see the Administrative News section of this newsletter for more information about uniforms.
Report Cards were mailed out along with AIMS and Terra Nova results. Our scores were impressive and we would like to thank all our students, parents and faculty for their hard work with their test preparation and execution. We are pleased to report that we received an "Excelling" rating from the state, regarding our test scores.
As previously mentioned, Orientation will be August 6th and 7th from 5:00-7:00 pm. This year, we will have stations within the buildings and we will move as quickly as possible. Please bring your patience and a smile. We are excited to welcome everyone back!
We are more than half-way through our summer break and we continue to process incoming applications for enrollment, although we continue to have waiting lists for most of the grade levels.
On Tuesday, July 29 we will receive additional classroom furniture in the morning. More hands will make it easier for us. If you wish to help, especially with assembling desks, please call the front office for more information.
On behalf of the faculty and staff, have a great "rest of the summer". We are looking forward to seeing you all on the first day of school, Monday, August 10th!
