Special Education Responsibility

 It is Paragon Science Academy's responsibility to inform the general public and all parents within our boundaries of our responsibility to make available special education services for students with disabilities aged 3 through 21 years and how to access those services.  In addition, we have a responsibility to provide information regarding early intervention services for children birth through 2 years.
 
We are responsible for identifying, location and evaluating all children with disabilities in our school population and for referring children form birth through 2 years of age to Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) for evaluation and appropriate services.
 
We are also responsible for providing a free and appropriate education (FAPE), which includes special education and related services to children with disabilities a public expense, under public supervision and direction and without charge to the parents.
 
For all new students to the district, the classroom teacher will complete screening activities within 45 days of enrollment.  The teacher will look at the child's ability in the areas of academics, vision, hearing, communication, social/emotional, adaptive development, and motor skills.  If any concerns are noted the child may be referred for additional help.

Finding Students Who Need Help


Do you have concerns about how your child or a child you work with walks, talks, listen, hears, sees, learns, plays or gets along with other?

In accordance with Federal Regulations, Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act, Child Find Identification (34 CFR section 300.125, 300.451), this is notification that Paragon Science Academy, 2975 W Linda Lane, Chandler, AZ 85224 has a Child Find system for identifying, locating and evaluating all children with disabilities (from birth through age 21) residing in the district, including children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, and who are in need of special education and related services.
